On the day after National Signing Day for the recruiting class of 2018, the Ole Miss Rebels have picked up a commitment from a prospect in the class of 2019.
Tariqious Tisdale, a 6-foot-5, 285-pound defensive lineman from Northwest Mississippi Community College, committed to the Rebels on Thursday, according to David Johnson of the Ole Miss Spirit.
Tisdale had previously committed to the Rebels in 2016, but academic eligibility concerns sent him to the junior college level. Now he’s ready to finally get to Oxford.
“I know Ole Miss never gave up on me,” Tisdale said. “Ole Miss has always been there for me, even after I had to go the junior college route. Ole Miss has always felt like my home. It has felt like home to me and my mom. They’ve always treated us like family.”
Tisdale was a 3-star prospect as a high school player, and although he’s listed as a strong side defensive end, he’s prepared to play anywhere on the defensive line for the Rebels.
“Ole Miss is telling me, with my speed and athleticism, I could go inside or out on the defensive line,” Tisdale said. “It doesn’t matter to me.”
Ole Miss’ 2019 recruiting class currently ranks sixth in the SEC and 14th in the nation, according to 247Sports.
Ole Miss expects Tisdale to sign during the early signing period in December of this season and enroll in January. He will have two seasons of eligibility in Oxford.
