Ole Miss senior linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche is in the intensive care unit of an Oxford hospital, according to Neal McCready of RebelGrove.com.
Nkemdiche has been in the hospital since Monday, but the reason is unknown, according to the report.
Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze said earlier Wednesday Nkemdiche was “questionable” for Saturday’s contest against No. 15 LSU.
“He’s questionable and dealing with a personal matter that he and his family are going through,” Freeze told reporters after the Rebels’ practice Wednesday, according to Chase Parham of RebelGrove.com. “We are going to walk through it with him. It’s kind of day by day on that so I don’t know if I have the answer on that, also.”
Nkemdiche, who was listed as a co-starter on Ole Miss’ depth chart this week, has a team-high 53 tackles in addition to 6.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks.
