The Ole Miss Rebels now know which Florida State quarterback they will face on Sept. 5.
Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher has named redshirt freshman Deondre Francois as the team’s starting quarterback. He beat out senior Sean Maguire, who suffered a foot injury earlier in camp and only returned to practice on Friday.

Francois, the No. 3 pro-style quarterback in the Class of ’15, also completed 20 of his 33 pass attempts in Florida State’s spring game for 246 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Fisher told reporters that he did not know whether Maguire would be available to face the Rebels. The initial prognosis on Maguire’s injury was that he would be out for about four weeks.
Francois and the Seminoles will square off against Chad Kelly and the Rebels in Orlando, Fla. The Seminoles also close their season against an SEC opponent, when they take on Florida on Nov. 26.
