Chad Kelly may not have been the most liked quarterback, but no one wanted to see his season end like this.
Kelly tore his ACL and meniscus in a game against Georgia Southern, thus ending the career of one of the more prolific quarterbacks in recent SEC memory.
Those who cover the game and fans both were disappointed to hear about Kelly’s injury.
I enrolled at Ole Miss in '06. Chad Kelly is the best quarterback I've seen in an Ole Miss uniform. Relentless competitor. Hate this.

Brutal. Ole Miss announces that QB Chad Kelly is out for the season. He suffered a torn ACL and torn lateral meniscus on Saturday.

I love making fun of Chad Kelly, but I hate to see this happen to anyone. Hoping for a speedy recovery! https://t.co/kNVQJqHDcp

Hate that Chad Kelly is done for the year. Worked hard and done well since arriving at Ole Miss. He'll get another chance at the next level.

Kelly led the SEC in passing last season and was on pace to do so again this year. In addition to leading the SEC in passing yards, he was also tied for the lead in touchdown passes with 19. Kelly also broke Archie Manning’s school record for passing yards in a single game against Auburn.
Kelly’s teammates will take on Texas A&M on Saturday. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 ET kick on ESPN.
