Ole Miss picked up its second commitment for the Class of 2017, as defensive end Markel Winters committed to the Rebels, he confirmed with SEC Country.
“The relationship I have with the coaches, the product they produce from Ole Miss is amazing and their fan base is out of this world,” Winters said to SEC Country. “I just feel like I can come in and make a difference.”
The Rebels did not finish the way they’d hoped along the defensive line, and that will be a big point of emphasis in this recruiting cycle.
Winters, a Jones County Junior College product, is not yet rated by any recruiting service.
The 6-foot-4, 260-pounder began his college career at East Carolina but was dismissed from the team following a suspension relating to a citation for firing a BB gun from a moving vehicle.
