Ken Webster, Detric Bing-Dukes suspended for season opener against South Alabama
It didn’t take long for Ole Miss interim head coach Matt Luke to hand out some punishments to players on his team.
During the Rebels’ media day on Wednesday, Luke announced that cornerback Ken Webster and linebacker Detric Bing-Dukes have been suspended for the first game against South Alabama on Sept. 2, per The Clarion-Ledger. The two will have to perform community service as part of the punishment after being arrested on Tuesday for shoplifting.
Webster is returning from a season-ending knee injury in the 2016 opener against Florida State while Bing-Dukes is expected to become one of the team’s top linebackers after appearing in 10 games with three starts last season.
