There’s speculation out there that Ole Miss could potentially (maybe just slightly?) have interest in Lane Kiffin as its next head coach.
Hey, there’s at least enough that Paul Finebaum was asked about it when joining SportsCenter on Friday morning.
And while it might seem crazy that the Rebels would have their sights on Kiffin right now of all times, it seems as though Kiffin has his eyes on the Rebels, at least on social media.
Earlier this morning, FOX Sports’ Clay Travis noticed that Kiffin’s four most recent follows on Twitter — go figure — were all related to Ole Miss-related accounts, including the football team’s official account.
He took a snapshot at that given time of Kiffin’s follows, which are listed in chronological order. The fourth account, not shown in the image below, was @OleMissInk.

Of course, there’s a good chance Kiffin did this knowing that it would get the attention of Ole Miss fans and others. It just goes to show Kiffin’s name will likely be mentioned every time there’s a coaching vacancy in the conference, and he knows that.
Here’s what Finebaum had to say about Kiffin coming to Oxford. He clearly thinks the chance of that is slim to none.
“He is young, he is offensive-minded and he comes with a lot of controversy,” Finebaum said. “It might be worth remembering his brother (Chris Kiffin) was on this staff and is no longer on that staff. He was part of this NCAA case. That could be used against Kiffin.
“I would bet against Lane for this particular job. I think he would really help a program, but I think Ole Miss has dealt with too much controversy. And I think Lane Kiffin just brings the circus with him wherever he goes.”
