Former Ole Miss WR Laquon Treadwell is from the Chicago area. So, Minnesota Vikings fans will just have to excuse him if he shows a little hometown pride when the NFC North leaders take on the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football.
According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, Treadwell hopes to wear some special Chicago Cubs cleats when the Vikings take the field at Soldier Field for the 8:30 ET kickoff.
Of course, a few things need to break his way first. At the time this story was written, the Cubs were trailing the Indians 3-2 in the World Series with Game 5 in Chicago still in progress on Sunday night. If the Cubs lose that game, the World Series is over and the Cleveland Indians are the World Series champions.
If the Cubs are able to force a Game 6, presumably it will be game on for Treadwell’s awesome cleats, which include “CUBS WIN!” inscribed on a mock Chicago Tribune newspaper.

Treadwell has struggled to get things going in his rookie season. He has appeared in three games and does not have a catch. The first-round pick has struggled with injuries, including a recent thumb issue.
