It’s easy to envision Shea Patterson in a Michigan helmet now.
On Sunday, a picture from 247Sports’ Sam Webb surfaced of the Ole Miss quarterback in a Wolverines helmet during the player’s weekend visit to Ann Arbor. The Rebels signal caller (for now) visited after he received permission to explore the possibility of a transfer.

At this point, it would be a surprise if Patterson didn’t choose to continue his career at Michigan. After all, Ole Miss is in a tough place after the NCAA handed down a 2018 postseason ban following the investigation of the Rebels’ off-field issues under former coach Hugh Freeze. The school is appealing the ban.
If you’re Patterson, who has thrown for 3,139 yards with 23 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in two seasons with the Rebels, you want to do the best thing that enhances your future NFL draft stock. Michigan may be a place to do that, as it has a coach in Jim Harbaugh who played in the NFL and knows what it takes to succeed at that level.
