Ole Miss picked up another commitment Tuesday, as cornerback Myles Hartsfield announced his pledge to the Rebels via Twitter.
“I would like to thank God, family and friends that have been with me in the past year!” Hartsfield said in his message. “Lord knows I appreciate everything that has turned me into the man I am today! It was not only a long road traveled but also a great learning experience for my family and I!
“I would like to thank all my coaches and teammates from East Coast Prep and from the Sayreville Bombers! After a long time coming, me and my family have decided to join the Ole Miss Rebels family!”
Hartsfield is unranked on 247Sports, but he is a 4-star prospect on Scout and a 3-star prospect on Rivals.
The 6-foot, 195-pounder committed to Penn State as a high school senior, but most of his senior season at Sayreville High School was cancelled amidst a hazing scandal. With the scandal, Hartsfield’s offer was gone, and he was forced to go to prep school.
Since then, he’s been a standout at East Coast Prep in Great Barrington, Mass. Hartsfield picked the Rebels over UCLA, Boston College and others.
Hartsfield’s commitment gives Ole Miss 19 commitments for the Class of 2016.
