Laquon Treadwell has been in the news quite a lot lately after declaring for the 2016 NFL Draft last week. But even with months left until he finds himself on an NFL roster, Treadwell is busy making new fans.
Valerie Calhoun, an anchor at Fox 13 in Memphis, wrote a Facebook post Friday describing a recent run-in she and her son had with Treadwell after the Rebels’ Sugar Bowl win against Oklahoma State.
“After the Sugar Bowl last weekend, he was the ONLY player who stayed out , signing autographs, until EVERY child was served,” the post read. “It was around 2am when he finally called it a night. I know. I was there with my son and some friend’s sons. All of the Ole Miss players were gracious to the young ( and older) fans. But, Laquon? He went above and beyond. I was there when one of the Coaches tried to “rescue” him- he said, ” No, I’m good” And he was…until 2am. I’m impressed.”
Treadwell is expected to be a first-round pick in the draft, and could be the first wide receiver off the board. He had 82 catches for 1,153 yards and 11 touchdowns this season for the Rebels.
