It’s probably not a big surprise to most that Florida State is favored over Ole Miss in the season opener contest between the two teams in Orlando, Florida, on Sept. 5, but the margin of the point spread is interesting.
The Seminoles open up as an 8.5-point favorite over the Rebels, according to 5Dimes Sportsbook.
Both teams should be ranked to begin the 2016 season with both programs having an opportunity to start the year in the top 10. Regardless of rankings, it will be one of the opening weekend’s biggest games.
Ole Miss (4-0) and Florida State (6-0) are undefeated in season openers under coaches Hugh Freeze and Jimbo Fisher, respectively.
Both teams also finished 10-3 last season, and the Rebels ended the year at No. 10 in the Associated Press top 25. The Seminoles finished the season at No. 14.
