It’s been a rough few days for Andy Kennedy and Ole Miss basketball.
Wednesday, it dropped a game to Georgia. Friday, it dismissed freshman Nate Morris after his second arrest. And Saturday, it dropped another game to South Carolina. After that, Kennedy had had it with his squad and unloaded on it, calling the Gamecocks soft twice during his postgame press conference.
Andy Kennedy: "My group’s awfully soft, and I hate to say that as their head coach."

The Rebels have been a starkly different team since conference play began, going 1-4 after a 9-3 start to the season.
Kennedy’s “soft” comment doesn’t seem to be too far off base, either. While Ole Miss ranks third in the conference with 40.2 rebounds per game, that number has dropped to 34.2 rebounds per game in conference games. Every SEC team averages more than 35 rebounds per game.
