Ole Miss CB Tee Shepard retires from football
The Ole Miss defense took another hit Wednesday as Rebels junior cornerback Tee Shepard announced his retirement. He will remain in school, but he will no longer play football according to Parrish Alford of the Daily Journal.
The junior explained in a statement that injuries and other challenges were the major factors in his decision to retire. Shepard is hearing impaired. He recorded two tackles and one pass deflection in five games this season.
His departure is another hit for the Ole Miss defense, which is also without starting safety Tony Connor and middle linebacker C.J. Johnson. Both Connor and Johnson suffered meniscus tears and underwent surgery within the last two and a half weeks.
