Former Ole Miss cornerback Tee Shepard took to social media over the weekend and released some frustration he has with Rebels coach Hugh Freeze.
Shepard, who made the decision to give up football two weeks ago because of a hearing impairment, made several posts across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram that emphasized that he was forced to quit football because of his disability. Shepard has since deleted those posts.

“Social media. That’s a whole other animal isn’t it?” Freeze told reporters on Monday. “I love Tee. He actually called me yesterday, and we had a good conversation. I know what was told to him and how much I pleaded with him to stay and let’s work through any issues. I’ll just leave it at that. He’s a good kid. I’ll visit with him today some more.”
Shepard was highly regarded as one of Ole Miss’ best cover corners, but Kendarius Webster beat him out for a starting position in fall camp and Shepard didn’t get much playing time before making the decision to quit football.
