Ole Miss linebacker Terry Caldwell reportedly was involved in a sideline incident with a teammate last Saturday, and Rebels coach High Freeze discussed the situation Monday.
As reported by Antonio Morales of The Clarion-Ledger, Freeze said the matter is “being addressed.” During the fourth quarter of Ole Miss’ 38-21 loss to LSU, Caldwell was seen headed to the Rebels’ locker room, as caught by ESPN cameras. ESPN reported that Caldwell was involved in the sideline incident.
“It’s internal,” Freeze said via The Clarion-Ledger. “I don’t want to go into it too deep. It’s being addressed, for sure. I’ve got a meeting with him today. We’ll decide for him what happens.”
Caldwell has 32 tackles and one forced fumble this season. He had two tackles against LSU.
That wasn’t the only disagreement on Ole Miss’ sideline in Baton Rouge. Defensive back Myles Hartfield and defensive end Marquis Haynes appeared to get into a scuffle, with defensive back A.J. Moore caught in the middle.
It was a frustrating night for the Rebels’ defense. Ole Miss allowed 515 yards and 311 on the ground. After high hopes to start the season, the Rebels are 3-4 and 1-3 in the SEC. They’ll host a hot Auburn team Saturday.
