Ole Miss DB Tony Conner decision coming, DT Robert Nkemdiche ‘cleared to go’
Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze said defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche is “cleared to go” this weekend, and a decision on defensive back Tony Conner for Saturday’s contest against Auburn will be made “sometime tomorrow”, according to Davis Potter of the Oxford Eagle.
Nkemdiche, who sustained a concussion against Memphis on Oct. 17, missed last week’s game against Texas A&M. The 6-foot-4, 296-pounder cleared the concussion protocol tests but woke on on Saturday with headaches.
As long as no symptoms return, Freeze said Nkemdiche will play against Auburn.
Conner sustained a torn meniscus against Alabama on Sept. 19. He ran for the first time on grass Monday and returned to practice yesterday. Freeze said a decision will have to be made tomorrow because of SEC travel roster limits.
Nkemdiche has 17 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and four quarterback hurries this season. Conner has appeared in three games.
