Ole Miss eats alligator before game against Florida
There is something to be said about committing entirely to the task ahead, but Ole Miss may have taken its preparation for Saturday’s game against Florida to a whole new level. Paul Jackson, the head strength coach at Ole Miss, tweeted on Friday that the Rebels chowed down on a little alligator snack before heading down to Gainesville, Fla., to take on the Gators.
Alligator meat has 29 percent protein, which is equal to chicken and more than fish, according to a book called “Miami Spice: The New Florida Cuisine” by Steven Raichlen. As pregame meals go, this one wasn’t such a bad choice.
Hopefully, Florida’s football team doesn’t decide to find some rebels to snack on.
