The Rebels were idle over the weekend, but a strong showing by Arkansas and a few teams losing in front of them propelled Ole Miss (7-3, 4-2 SEC) back into the polls at No. 25 when the Associated Press released its Top 25 on Sunday.
The Rebels have fluctuated a lot in the polls, reaching as high as No. 3 after Ole Miss’ win against Alabama on Sept. 19 and falling out completely after last week’s overtime loss to the Razorbacks.
Ole Miss has a chance to continue climbing in the rankings if it can beat LSU on Saturday and then topple Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl.
They aren’t games with SEC title implications like Ole Miss had hoped, but they are still two rivalry games that could get the bad taste out of everyone’s mouths before heading into the offseason.
