Following an impressive 38-27 win over Mississippi State Saturday, Ole Miss (9-3, 6-2 SEC) jumped to No. 16 when the Associated Press released its Top 25 on Sunday.
The Rebels have fluctuated a lot in the polls, reaching as high as No. 3 after Ole Miss’ win against Alabama on Sept. 19 and falling out completely after an overtime loss to the Arkansas on Nov. 7.
However, the Rebels have played well in back-to-back wins over LSU and the Bulldogs to get back into the polls. Ole Miss has a chance to continue to climb in the rankings if it can get a win in its bowl game.
The Sugar Bowl appears to be the likely destination for Ole Miss, barring Florida upsetting Alabama in the SEC Championship game next Saturday.
