Three-star quarterback Alex Faniel has committed to Ole Miss, Ben Garrett of Scout.com reports.
The 6-foot-5, 225-pound quarterback from Richmond, Va., is rated as the No. 27 pro-style quarterback in the country and the state of Virginia’s No. 18 player, according to 247Sports.com. Faniel was also considering Virginia Tech before making his commitment Thursday.
Faniel, who reported five offers, was pegged to Virginia Tech, as 86 percent of recruiting analysts projected him to the Hokies, according to 247Sports’ Crystal Ball… He originally was going to announce his commitment in March, according to Tech Sideline, but opted to wait until after his school year ended.
Ole Miss was a bit of a late entry with Virginia Tech and NC State the leaders early on. The Rebels jumped in though and won the recruiting battle in the end.
