Ole Miss appears to have its point guard for next season, as New Mexico graduate transfer Cullen Neal has committed to play for the Rebels, according to Jeff Goodman of ESPN.
Neal, who graduates from New Mexico in May, will have two years of eligibility remaining, making him even a bigger get for coach Andy Kennedy.
With Ole Miss losing standout guard Stefan Moody to graduation, in addition to J.T. Escobar and Sam Finley, who are both transferring out of the program, Ole Miss desperately needed to add some pieces to its backcourt this spring.
The 6-foot-5, 195-pounder averaged 12.3 points and 3.7 assists per game last season. He also shot 35 percent from the field. However, Neal did total 101 turnovers last year.
Neal visited Ole Miss in March and picked the Rebels over Texas A&M and Ohio State among other schools.
Ole Miss is also pursuing several other graduate transfers to help immediately next season.
