Myles Brennan is already committed to LSU. But that didn’t stop one SEC West rival from offering him a scholarship Saturday morning.
Ole Miss has offered the 6-foot-3, 180-pound quarterback a scholarship, he announced Saturday.
The Bay Saint Louis, Miss., native is rated as the nation’s No. 16 pro-style quarterback in the Class of 2017 and the No. 7 prospect in the state, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He threw for 5,248 yards and 53 touchdowns last season as he led St. Stanislaus High School to the Mississippi Class 4A South Half Championship.
Brennan committed to LSU in April and also has offers from Kentucky, Vanderbilt, California, Wisconsin, Indiana and Wake Forest. He seemed to be ecstatic about receiving an offer from the hometown Rebels.
“You know it’s a huge offer,” Brennan told Rebels247.com’s David Johnson. “As we know, I’m committed and the biggest thing is we never know what will happen in this recruiting process, so we just have to take it day by day. But always an honor to get an instate school.”
LSU may have some work to do to preserve one of its prized commitments in its 2017 class.
