Ole Miss sophomore offensive lineman Christian Morris’ football career is over, according to a tweet from Morris on Saturday.
“Devastated,” Morris said in a tweet. “My career is done. All my hard work…”
Morris collapsed as he was making his way to the Ole Miss locker room at halftime of the Rebels’ win against Texas A&M on Oct. 24. The following Monday, coach Hugh Freeze said Morris had suffered a spinal cord contusion and was expected to make a full recovery.
“I’m so hurt bruh I swear to God!,” Morris said in a series of other tweets. “I never been so hurt. Future just was so bright with this game. Put too much in this game.”
Morris signed with UCLA out of high school and transferred to Ole Miss in January of 2014. The 6-foot-6, 313-pound Memphis, Tenn., native played on the field goal unit and as a backup offensive lineman for the Rebels this season.
