Move over Archie Manning, there’s a new record holder in the Ole Miss history books.
With the Rebels legend in attendance for the game against Auburn on Saturday night, Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly passed Manning on the school’s single-game passing yardage list.
With just under six minutes remaining, Kelly completed an 18-yard pass to Evan Engram to move his game total to 449 yards passing against Auburn.
Manning’s record, which was set in 1969 when he threw for 436 yards (and rushing for 104 more) in a 33-32 loss to Alabama, stood for 47 years.
Earlier in the game, Engram also set a school record, passing his own mark for yards receiving by a tight end in one season.
