In case you missed it, Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly had an eventful weekend away from the Rebels football team during the bye week.
The star signal caller made headlines on Friday after he ran onto the field of a high school football game in New York to defend his younger brother, who was playing in the game when a brawl broke out.
But according to a report from ESPN.com’s Greg Ostendorf, Kelly himself spoke for the first time about the incident on Monday afternoon:
“If I could’ve done it differently, I definitely would have. I obviously wouldn’t have run out on the field,” Kelly said Monday. “I regret doing it. But at the same time, I’m sure any of us, if we saw a family member out there in need of help, we would’ve come to the rescue too.”
It seems like this might be the end of that mini-controversy. Kelly and the Rebels take on Arkansas on Saturday.
