Chad Kelly is one of the few quarterbacks in college football that knows what it takes to beat Alabama. And he’s made his pick for the national title game.
Kelly, who originally signed with Clemson out of high school, picked Clemson to knock off Alabama in the national championship game. Kelly and the Rebels lost to the Tide 48-43 earlier in the season.
Kelly was the last quarterback to beat Alabama, as he and the Rebels beat Nick Saban 43-37 on Sept. 19, 2015.

Kelly was kicked off the Clemson team in 2014 for “conduct detrimental to the team.” Kelly’s senior season at Ole Miss was cut short when tore an ACL against Georgia Southern. Kelly hopes to recover in time for the 2017 NFL season, and he is projected as a late-round pick until he proves healthy.
