Chad Kelly arrived at Ole Miss last spring with some fanfare and big questions. The transfer from Clemson who spent a year playing in junior college still had to fight to become the starting quarterback and silence some doubters.
In his first year in Oxford, he did more than that. He threw for 4,042 yards and 31 touchdowns in leading Ole Miss to a Sugar Bowl victory. He was the SEC Newcomer of the Year and a finalist for the Manning Award as the nation’s top quarterback.
It seems like he is just getting started.
As if his strong junior season was not enough, Kelly is ready to show off his senior year. And there is video proof of that.
That would appear to be Kelly throwing the ball nearly 80 yards from his own 20-yard line to the opposite end zone. And that seems like it was no sweat — if not the tightest spiral in the world.
Kelly is expected to be one of the best quarterbacks returning in the SEC. Ole Miss could be a dark horse to win the SEC West after defeating both Alabama and LSU last year. It was a landmark season for the Rebels.
And it seems like Kelly is readying himself to do it all over again.
