One Ole Miss commit does not lack confidence.
Josh Clarke, a 2017 linebacker recruit, plans on leading the Rebels to a national championship. That’s what Clarke told David Johnson of 247Sports.
“We want the national championship at Ole Miss. Willie (Gay) and I plan to lead the defense in getting that,” Clarke told Johnson.
Clarke is 3-star linebacker out of New Orleans and is listed at 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds. He is the No. 22 ranked prospect in the state of Louisiana. Gay is a 4-star linebacker out of Starkville, Miss., and is the No. 3 recruit in the state of Mississippi.
Ole Miss has claimed three national championships, but the NCAA only recognizes the 1960 title. The Rebels have won the SEC six times, but its last league championship came in 1963.
Last season, Hugh Freeze and Ole Miss won 10 games and defeated Oklahoma State in the Sugar Bowl. The Rebels’ current recruiting class is ranked No. 32 with 10 commitments.
