Ole Miss did what it had to do, taking care of business at home against New Mexico State, but it didn’t matter much in the rankings.
The Rebels moved up one spot to No. 13 in the AP Top 25 even though they blew out the Aggies 52-3 on Saturday. That is certainly better than last week when Ole Miss fell from No. 3 to No. 14 after the road loss to Florida.
Overall, there was some moving and shaking at the top of the poll. Baylor is the new No. 2 ranked team in the AP Top 25. Despite remaining undefeated, TCU fell one spot to No. 3, and Michigan State moved down three spots to No. 7.
Even though Alabama also won, it fell in the poll as well. The Crimson Tide dropped two spots to No. 10. LSU is the highest ranked SEC at No. 6. Florida and Texas A&M join Alabama and LSU in the AP Top 10 as the Gators and Tigers are ranked No. 8 and No. 9, respectively.
