Ole Miss signed its best class in program history on Wednesday (No. 6 in the nation), and the college football world is taking notice.
Everyone from national media members to former Rebels gave their thoughts on the impressive collection of talent coach Hugh Freeze continues putting together in Oxford, Miss. Here are the best reactions from around Twitter:
Obviously, the most excited guy of all was Freeze himself.

Fox News’ Shepard Smith has never been shy about his love for Ole Miss, and he took to Twitter to express his appreciation for what Freeze is building. In fact, he even predicted that the Rebels will win the SEC West.

Former offensive lineman Terrence Metcalf, the father of Rebels’ four-star wide receiver signee D.K. Metcalf, is really thrilled about what could happen while his son plays at Ole Miss.
When if ever did Ole Miss have a recruiting class this talented?

Most of the reaction came from other ex-Ole Miss players who like what they see happening at their alma mater. Aside from Metcalf, a group of former Ole Miss greats — including recently departed offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil, wide receiver Donte Moncrief, running back Deuce McAllister, offensive tackle Bradley Sowell and defensive back Mike Hilton — all gave props to the Rebels’ signing class.
Looking good Ole Miss ? watch out its fina get ugly!!!

When A.J. Brown announced his commitment to Ole Miss among his peers at Starkville (Miss.) High School, FOX Sports’ Bruce Feldman noted the four-star wide receiver has been compared to former Rebels wide receiver Laquon Treadwell.
#OleMiss lands A.J. Brown right from MissState's backyard. Brown's a physical WR who has drawn some comparisons to Laquon Treadwell.

Arkansas coach Bret Bielema had the comment that induced the most reaction on social media. Of course, Bielema later clarified that he intended the remark as a compliment to Ole Miss and Florida.
Bret Bielema on ESPN2: "Florida is kind of the new Ole Miss. They're doing some things in recruiting that kind of shock you a little bit."

It wasn’t all good news for Ole Miss on Wednesday, however. The Rebels were very confident they would land five-star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, but when the Macon, Miss., native announced he was signing with Mississippi State, the Ole Miss coaching staff was in shock, as detailed by ESPN’s Chris Low.
First, there was stunned silence, and then there was a mass exodus from Ole Miss' war room after Jeffery Simmons announced for Miss. State.
