Jones becomes the second recruit to de-commit this week, joining 4-star linebacker Willie Gay who dropped his pledge on Monday.
The Baton Rouge native, who reports 31 offers, had been committed to the Rebels since May 8, 2016.
Jones is ranked as the nation’s No. 14 weak-side defensive end and the state of Louisiana’s No. 15 overall prospect, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
He is now considered an LSU lean with 67 percent of recruiting analysts pegging Jones to sign with the Tigers, according to 247Sports’ Crystal Ball projections.
With the pair of de-commitments this week, Ole Miss now holds 10 recruits in its 2017 class, including 3-star weak-side defensive ends Jay Johnson and Markel Winters.
