Ole Miss announced plans late last week to construct a bell tower just outside the north end zone of what will be a newly-renovated Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
The 60-foot tower will be ready in time for the 2017 spring game, and Ole Miss’ gameday “Walk of Champions” will end with players walking through the structure on the way to the stadium.

The Lloyd Family Bell Tower was the idea of Ole Miss graduate Bob Lloyd, who presented the concept to the school in 2010.
“On game day, the special tone of the Rebel bell will signal game time — time to take that jovial Grove attitude and bring that energy to the Vaught with a swagger and confidence that says, ‘This is our day and our house!’” Lloyd, a 1983 graduate of the university’s School of Business Administration, said in a news release.
