Life hasn’t been easy for Ole Miss.
On Saturday, the Rebels lost 38-21 to LSU at Tiger Stadium. That defeat followed a 34-30 loss to Arkansas on Oct. 15.
Now Ole Miss is 3-4 overall and 1-3 in the SEC, tied for last place in the SEC West with Arkansas and Mississippi State. All the momentum gained after routing Georgia and Memphis to improve to 3-2 is long gone.
So that means it’s time for a little social media sunshine. On Sunday, two tweets were sent out that served as pick-me-ups for the roughed-up Rebels faithful.
First, Ole Miss’ Dylan Edwards tweeted that the Rebels’ schedule has been chock-full of tough opponents:
Ole Miss is the first team since 2010 to play five ranked teams in its first seven games

Later, the Rebels released a snazzy tweet showcasing all their SEC statistical leaders. On the surface, this seems fine. But the question must be asked: If Ole Miss has the luxury of all these elite talents, then why aren’t the Rebels better?

It’s gut-check time for Ole Miss. The Rebels host a hot Auburn team next Saturday. Then they close with Georgia Southern, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and Mississippi State. Possible potholes remain.
When the going gets tough, there’s always Twitter, Ole Miss.
