Paul Finebaum doesn’t see Les Miles landing the Ole Miss job.
Speaking on 94.5 FM WJOX on Monday, the noted SEC Network analyst had a strong opinion when discussing the possibility of Miles landing in Oxford. The Rebels’ coaching job came open abruptly when Hugh Freeze resigned last Thursday, after wild details emerged regarding the coach’s personal conduct.
Finebaum shot down the idea of the former LSU coach ending up in Oxford.
“He’s not getting the Ole Miss job,” Finebaum said on the show. “I find that to be one of the most ridiculous statements that I’ve ever seen that somebody is actually taking seriously.”
That take makes sense. There has been chatter that Miles is interested in the Ole Miss job, but it’s a big question whether Miles would want the Rebels job at all. After all, Ole Miss is facing huge questions about its future with NCAA trouble hanging over the program.
It’s likely that Miles will end up back on a sideline. But Finebaum is right. Chances are slim that we’ll see Miles at Ole Miss.
That’s probably a win for Miles in this case.
