Police responded to an incident Saturday night that involved Ole Miss star defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche falling from a window at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta hotel, according to Officer Kim Jones, a police spokeswoman. Nkemdiche was conscious and breathing when police arrived, and he was transported to Grady Memorial hospital in stable condition.
Afterward, a small quantity of suspected marijuana was discovered in Nkemdiche’s hotel room. Officers believe Nkemdiche broke the window, climbed over a wall and fell “approximately 15 feet,” according to police.
“We are still learning about the matter, but obviously Robert’s wellbeing is our greatest concern,” Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze said in a statement.
Nkemdiche, who had an excellent junior season with the Rebels, is widely projected as a top-five pick in the 2016 NFL Draft should he choose to forego his final year of college.
UPDATE: WSBTV News in Atlanta claims to have obtained video of Nkemdiche being loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher. You can watch that video below:
