The first stop for Laquon Treadwell after his pro day is a private meeting with the Cleveland Browns on Thursday, according to Ben Garrett of Scout.com.
Treadwell received mixed reviews for his performance at the Ole Miss Pro Day on Monday, with most of the focus on his 40-yard dash times of 4.63 and 4.65 seconds. On Wednesday, Treadwell told Brooke Cersosimo of NFL.com that he isn’t too worried about his times.
“I don’t think it does anything. If you watch my film, I wouldn’t be where I’m at right now if it was depending on the 40 time,” Treadwell told Cersosimo. “I mean it’s for the fans and for the scouts so they have something to say about someone. I don’t really get caught up in that.”
Treadwell told Cersosimo that after his trip with the Browns, his agent is working to set up visits with the New York Giants and Detroit Lions in April. The Biletnikoff Award finalist reportedly has a scheduled visit with the Minnesota Vikings, as well.
The Browns are owners of the No. 2 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, and the first pick of the second round at No. 32 overall. The team’s leading wide receiver, Travis Benjamin, signed a four-year contract with the San Diego Chargers in free agency, although the Browns may get Josh Gordon back in 2016 after the receiver was suspended for the 2015 season.
