Report: Ole Miss DL Robert Nkemdiche became “paranoid” after using synthetic marijuana
Ole Miss star Robert Nkemdiche’s frightening fall from the fourth-floor window of an Atlanta area hotel happened after the junior defensive lineman used synthetic marijuana, according to Clay Travis of Fox Sports.
Nkemdiche became “paranoid and convinced someone was chasing” him, according to the report, which is what led to the 6-foot-4, 296-pound athlete breaking his hotel room window open and falling from the ledge. He was later charged with marijuana possession after police discovered a small quantity in the room.
The report also mentions Nkemdiche’s older brother, Denzel, a Rebels linebacker who was hospitalized in Oxford, Miss., for previously undisclosed reasons. According to Travis, that incident involved the elder Nkemdiche also using synthetic marijuana and then being found on the roof of his town home, “wrapped in a blanket, terrified that someone was after him.”
Robert Nkemdiche is almost universally projected as a top-five pick in next April’s NFL Draft should he go pro early. His status for Ole Miss’ matchup against Oklahoma State in the Sugar Bowl remains an unknown at this point.
