Jeremy Liggins is not with Ole Miss to open up camp.
The senior offensive lineman is being withheld from practice for violations of team standards, according to the Daily Journal’s Parrish Alford. Coach Hugh Freeze did say that Ole Miss is working to get him back with the team, per Alford.
Liggins entered camp as Ole Miss’ No. 1 left tackle. He played in every game last season, earning two starts at tight end. He also saw time in the Rebels’ wildcat package in short-yardage situations, and took some reps as the Rebels’ backup right tackle over the last half of the season.
Junior guard Rod Taylor, and freshmen Alex Givens and Greg Little are expected to compete for the No. 1 spot, per Alford. Little comes to Oxford ranked as the nation’s No. 1 offensive tackle and the country’s No. 3 overall prospect, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
