Ole Miss junior tight end Evan Engram will return for his senior season, according to Neal McCready of RebelGrove.com.
Engram was one of two players who filed for an NFL Draft evaluation through Ole miss. Rebels coach Hugh Freeze said Monday that Engram’s status was “up in the air,” but Freeze confirmed the news, per McCready. Obviously, getting the 6-foot-3, 227-pounder back is a big boost for the Ole Miss offense.
The Powder Springs, Ga., native has totaled 32 receptions for 368 yards and two touchdowns this season. In 2014, Engram had 38 catches for 662 yards and two touchdowns.
With Ole Miss wide receiver Laquon Treadwell likely to declare early for the NFL Draft following the Sugar Bowl, Engram’s return will provide quarterback Chad Kelly with a veteran pass-catcher to go along with a talented group of young receivers in 2016.
