Ole Miss junior defensive end Robert Nkemdiche will likely be a first-round pick in next April’s NFL draft, but he could have a budding jazz and blues career as well.
Nkemdiche was spotted playing the saxophone with one of his brothers – either Ole Miss senior linebacker Denzel or older brother Bryan – at the Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale, Miss., Thursday night.
Nkemdiche’s status is uncertain for the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1 after the star defensive lineman fell from a window at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta hotel on Dec. 12 and required stitches in his legs and back. Police found a small quantity of marijuana in his hotel room and charged him with possession of marijuana on Monday.
Ole Miss fans should keep an eye out for Nkemdiche and his saxophone when the Rebels travel to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl. If he’s playing jazz instead of defensive tackle, the Rebels may be in trouble.
