TV viewing guide: Who Ole Miss fans should cheer for this weekend
After playing for 10 consecutive weeks, Ole Miss will get a much-needed break with a bye this weekend. However, that doesn’t mean there’s not plenty at stake for the Rebels this weekend.
Ole Miss’ loss to Arkansas last weekend put them in a position where they will need some serious help to remain in contention for the SEC West crown, but with three weeks to go, there’s still time for the Rebels to get some help before they hit the field again Nov. 21 against LSU in Oxford, Miss.
Here’s who Ole Miss should pull for this weekend:
Alabama at Mississippi State, 3:30 p.m. ET: This is the big one. Alabama currently control its own destiny, and the Rebels desperately need the Crimson Tide to lose another game. This weekend’s matchup against Mississippi State and the Iron Bowl remain the two toughest challenges for Alabama. Ole Miss fans have put down their hatred and pull for the Bulldogs to get the upset in Starkville. A win for Mississippi State this weekend would allow it to control its own destiny in the division race. Lots of variables at play during the Rebels’ bye week.
Arkansas at LSU, 7:15 p.m. ET: With the Rebels loss to Arkansas last weekend, Ole Miss needs the Razorbacks to lose a game to avoid any potential tiebreakers with Arkansas. The Razorbacks face Mississippi State and Missouri in the final two weeks of the season, so an Arkansas win in Death Valley would be huge for its chances at winning the West. In a perfect world, Ole Miss gets a Mississippi State win paired with an LSU win to set up a de facto knockout game against the Tigers next week.
