Whatever voodoo Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze practices before his team plays Alabama, it’s still working.
After punting three straight times, the Rebels opened up their fifth offensive possession of the game by letting quarterback Chad Kelly test the Crimson Tide defensive backs deep. That plan paid off, as wideout Damore’ea Stringfellow went airborne to bring down a long bomb from Kelly for a sick 44-yard catch over Marlon Humphrey.
Ole Miss eventually would settle for a field goal, but Kelly tested Alabama deep again on the next possession and won again, connecting with tight end Evan Engram for a game-changing 63-yard touchdown pass.
The Rebels lead Alabama, 24-3, late in the first half.
That's how you go up and get it!
