2017 SEC Country Power Poll: Where Missouri is ranked (Week 4)

A loss was expected for Missouri on Saturday to No. 15 Auburn, but maybe not this way.

The Tigers dropped their third consecutive game in convincing fashion as Auburn rolled to a 51-14 win. Missouri gave up 5 rushing touchdowns to Kamryn Pettway, and Jarrett Stidham had an efficient 218-yard day with 1 touchdown and no turnovers.

Missouri, meanwhile, was anything but efficient. Barry Odom’s team trailed 28-0 midway through the second quarter and never threatened. Missouri’s first touchdown came with 4 minutes to go before halftime, and the hosts didn’t score again until the fourth quarter.

After the game, Odom unleashed a fiery, emotional “state of the program” speech:

“I want to get one thing real straight: I’m gonna win here,” Odom said. “That’s gonna happen. We will win. This is a turnaround. Any way you slice it or dice it or want to look at it, this is a turnaround process. And unfortunately — or maybe fortunately — I’m built for this because I’ve been in a whole heck of a lot of them my entire life.”

But for now, the wins haven’t come, and because of that, Missouri remains last in the SEC Country Power Poll. It’s the fourth consecutive week Missouri ranks 14th in the SEC Country Power Poll.

Missouri has a brief reprieve with a bye week in Week 5 before road games at Georgia and at Kentucky. From there, the Tigers close their nonconference schedule with games against Idaho and at Connecticut before finishing the season with four consecutive SEC games.
