Danny Kanell didn’t let an opportunity pass to jab the SEC early Saturday morning.
On Friday night, Florida State beat Missouri 67-54 in the NCAA Tournament, ending the Tigers’ season. The Seminoles enjoyed a large cushion throughout much of the action in Nashville, Tenn., building a 42-20 lead by halftime. With the loss, Missouri’s season ends with a 20-13 record.
Kanell, a former Florida State quarterback who’s currently a SiriusXM analyst, weighed in about the result on Twitter. He made sure to mention the SEC is 0-1 against the Seminoles in the NCAA Tournament.

Those words might sting if you’re a Tigers fan, but you have to admit that’s a rather savvy tweet from Kanell. He gained a reputation for his negative takes about the SEC throughout the 2017 football season, so he’s continuing to play the part in March.
Florida State’s next game in the West Regional will be against top-seeded Xavier on Sunday (8:40 p.m. ET, TNT). For what it’s worth, the Seminoles’ next potential opportunity to face an SEC team in the NCAA Tournament would be against Texas A&M in the Elite Eight.
