Not many players transfer from Alabama to Missouri, but wide receiver Chris Black is taking it all in stride.
The high-profile recruit is excited to begin his tenure in Columbia, Mo., after catching 25 passes for 290 yards in three seasons in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Black explained that a change of scenery was greatly needed.
“I felt like I just needed a breath of fresh air, a new start,” Black said, according to Scout.com’s Nate Latsch. “I made the right choice. Coach (Josh) Heupel, Coach (Andy) Hill are all great dudes, so I’m just glad to be here.”
Black will immediately try to make an impact for the Tigers. Coach Barry Odom said Black has already garnered attention from a leadership standpoint.
“It’s always hard when a newcomer comes in to be a leader, just because it’s a new guy coming in, but he’s taken a tremendous responsibility in trying to lead our team and that side of the ball and that receiver group,” Odom told Latsch.
