Missouri’s football program is in a low place right now. As low as it’s been in about two decades, probably. That culminated in an embarrassing effort against perennial Big 10 bottom dweller Purdue on Saturday, as the Boilermakers came into Faurot Field and smacked down the Tigers.
The performance has former Mizzou stars fed up. In particular, former 2007 All-America tight end Martin Rucker took to Twitter and encouraged the program to “clean house:”
Clean house and make a splash hire, i.e. our basketball team. I hope it doesn't have to be that way. Love Barry Odom and want him to succeed https://t.co/XqBEd6voJM

Though Rucker softened his statement by saying he “loves Barry Odom” and “hope[s] it doesn’t have to be that way,” it’s still a pretty jarring statement from one of the better players in recent program history. After Missouri’s game Saturday, however, it’s difficult to argue with him.
