EJ Gaines hasn’t spent much time on the field since his days at Missouri. The former first-team All-SEC cornerback’s last game was during his rookie season with the Rams in 2014.
But Gaines is hopeful to suit up this Sunday for Los Angeles against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to Joe Curley of the Ventura County Star.

Gaines missed all of 2015 after undergoing foot surgery. He was bothered by a hamstring injury during training camp. Now, he has been listed on the injury report with a thigh injury for the first two weeks of the season. Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com calls it a “slight chance” that Gaines will play Sunday.
Gaines nabbed a pair of interceptions in 15 games for the Rams in 2014.
