The Missouri basketball team just received a huge boost for the 2017-18 season, as Jontay Porter, a Tigers commit and one of the top recruits in the nation, has reclassified and will now be a part of the 2017 class.
Porter announced the decision on Twitter.

The 6-foot-10, 240-pound power forward from Columbia was originally a Class of 2018 commit, but will enroll in school early. His brother, Michael Porter Jr., is also a member of the Tigers while his father, Michael Porter Sr., joined the Missouri coaching staff this offseason.
Porter was a top target of new Missouri coach Cuonzo Martin, who accepted the Tigers job in March after three seasons at Cal. It was reported in July that Porter would be making his decision soon on whether to join the 2017 class or wait until the following year.
The decision by Porter will make one of the nation’s top signing classes even better, and should move the Tigers up from No. 8 in the nation.
Missouri basketball’s official Twitter account welcomed Porter to the team.
