Missouri basketball fans won’t have to wait much longer to find out if their 2017-18 team will add one more dynamic player before the school year begins.
Jontay Porter, brother of Missouri-bound top 2017 prospect Michael Porter Jr., is looking at next week as when he’ll announce his decision on reclassifying into this year’s class.
Porter Jr. told the Kansas City Star’s Tod Palmer of his brother’s announcement plans.
Michael Porter Jr. says younger brother Jontay should announce a decision on reclassifying next week. Only Jontay and parents know decision.

Porter, already a Missouri commitment for the class of 2018, has the option of reclassifying and becoming a member of the 2017 class. This shift would allow him to play a year in college with his older brother, who, as the top prospect in the class, is highly unlikely to return for a sophomore season in Columbia.
The Tigers currently have the eighth-ranked class in the nation and third in the SEC. Adding the 6-foot-10, 225-pound power forward could push them even higher entering Cuonzo Martin’s first season as head coach.
